MORE INFORMATION ON CANDELA

Candela has been with our partners at GPAR since August 2024, she was rescued with her litter of puppies who have all been adopted now, and she now needs a home to call her own after raising her puppies. She is a dainty little Andaluz at only 9kg.

Candela is deaf, but this does not hold her back. She is a really happy, affectionate little lady that absolutely loves a cuddle. She is a firm favourite within the volunteers in the shelter. At first, she can be a little shy but she soon comes out of her shell and gains confidence. Being deaf, she is not afraid of things like traffic or other loud noises but little things like approaching her from behind can scare her as she cannot hear you approaching so this is something to take into consideration. We have homed several deaf podencos successfully so can help with little hints and tips, which soon become second nature for adopters who have all said having a deaf dog is a great experience and not something to be afraid of.

She enjoys the company of other dogs, and is playful with them. She always walks well on the leash when she’s on outings from the shelter.

Candela is neutered, vaccinated, and will be tested for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
